Statewide Training and Organization Development offers a variety of training and development programs to assist state employees of all levels with individual performance, skill building, and career development. Many of the courses offered in these programs are designed to help employees meet minimum qualifications for advancement.

Courses are divided into five major program areas to meet your specific training needs:

Career Enrichment Program (CEP)—Career Enrichment Program (CEP)-courses available for all state employees. CEP courses provide training in the areas of Professional/ Supervisory Development, Office Productivity, Communications, Customer Service, and Wellness/Safety (including Defensive Driving).

Computer Training (Comp)—courses available for all state employees.  Courses are offered to state employees through a partnership with Delaware Technical and Community College (DTCC) during the day, evening, or weekend at DTCC’s Stanton, Terry, and Owens campuses. 

Human Resource Management (HRM)—specialized courses for HR professionals and those enrolled in the HR Certificate program.

Management Development Institute (MDI)—specialized courses for managers, supervisors, and executives providing training to increase effectiveness and productivity.   This program includes Continuous Quality Improvement—courses, seminars, conferences, and networking opportunities to improve the quality of state government.

Executive Training Program (ETP)—designed for cabinet secretaries, agency heads, division directors, program managers, and other top executives.
