State Personnel Hosts State of Delaware Job Fair Fifteen State Agencies Actively Recruiting, Offering "On-the-Spot" Application and Testing Wilmington - State Personnel Director Lisa Blunt-Bradley will join job seekers throughout the State as they explore employment opportunities with the State of Delaware tomorrow, Saturday, November 3, 2001, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at a Job Fair at Delaware Technical & Community College's Owens Campus in Georgetown. "I invite and encourage all job seekers to attend the Job Fair," said Blunt-Bradley. "Come and see the jobs that are available throughout our agencies and sample our state-of-the-art services that make applying for State jobs so user-friendly and convenient." There will be many positions open to the public for those seeking employment with the State of Delaware as fifteen State agencies will be actively recruiting. The Department of Correction, for example, is currently recruiting for Correctional Officers and Correctional Food Service Specialists. The Department currently employs 32 new officers who were hired from State Job Fairs within the last 12 months. Correctional Officer testing and interviewing will be held at the Job Fair. No experience is needed - professional training will be provided to successful applicants. Benefits include:
Resumes will be accepted, but are not required to apply for vacant positions. A workshop, "How to Fill Out a State Application" will be led by Office of Management and Budget staff. Keyboarding proficiency tests will be administered and online testing will be available. State Personnel will also provide employment counseling on a first come, first served basis for job seekers.
