Governor Recognizes State Employees during
National Public Service Recognition Week
Four Win Top .Delaware Award For Excellence and Commitment In State Service.

Dover - Governor Ruth Ann Minner today recognized this year's Delaware Award for Excellence and Commitment in State Service recipients and nominees. The event, celebrated in conjunction with National Public Service Recognition Week each year, recognizes State employees for exceptional service and professional achievement. State Personnel Director Lisa Blunt-Bradley presided over the annual luncheon at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.

 "Each and every day you demonstrate how dedicated you are and how much you care about the programs and services you provide to all Delaware residents," said Gov. Ruth Ann Minner. "I thank you for your commitment to public service and level of excellence you bring to a distinguished workforce".

This year's Delaware Award was presented to Patricia A. Conley, assistant housing finance administrator at Delaware State Housing Authority for a courageous act; Grace W. Martin, deputy warden at Department of Correction for 40 years of outstanding service; Helen M. Reader, cook and youth care worker at Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families and James A. Stewart, III, tax examination & investigation manager at Department of Finance for exceptional accomplishment, achievement, initiative, leadership and long and outstanding state service.

In addition to the top award recipients, 22 other state employees were recognized for their exemplary performance.

Blunt-Bradley said, "Today, we recognize the efforts of our dedicated state employees. Your service touches the lives of all Delaware residents directly or indirectly and I thank you all for your outstanding work".

Recipients of the awards receive a personalized plaque and a $1,500 cash award, minus appropriate tax withholdings. Their names and pictures will be displayed in the Tatnall Building Employee Hall of Honor in Dover.
